One of Fox News’ most conservative hosts, Dan Bongino, is quitting the network after negotiations for a new contract between him and the Fox Corp.-backed program fell through.

On his podcast on Thursday, Bongino announced that his final appearance on Fox News on the Fox News Channel occurred last week. “It’s hard. That is difficult to say. I’ve been performing there and working there for ten years, so the show’s cancellation was difficult. And I want you to realize that it’s not a large-scale plot. I swear to you. There is no hostility. This did not involve a WWE brawl. Simply put, we were unable to agree on an extension.

  • In 2021, Bongino, who became a contributor to Fox News in 2019, started anchoring the Saturday-night program “Unfiltered With Dan Bongino” on the network.

His departure, which Forbes previously reported, comes shortly after Fox Corp., which was accused of defaming the ballot-technology company by spreading false conspiracies about its involvement in the 2020 presidential election, agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787.5 million in a settlement. Although Bongino was not expected to testify or play a major role in the trial, he has a history of amplifying questionable debates. For example, he has criticized laws requiring people to get the coronavirus vaccine or claimed that Democrats were plotting a coup during the 2020 presidential election.

Fox News issued a statement saying, “We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.” The networks will substitute “Lawrence Jones Cross Country” for Bongino’s show on Saturday night, with an encore of “Gutfeld!” at 10 p.m. A new schedule will be unveiled by Fox News in the upcoming weeks.

Bongino characterized the departure as cordial. “I had a great time there, and they treated me well for ten years, as you know. They permitted me to host a program called “Unfiltered,” and we did what we wanted to do and covered the subjects we wanted to cover. It’s a sad day, too. The day is depressing, he said. “They did offer me the chance to perform one final show. I don’t want you to assume that they did something like show me the door; I did it, not they did. However, I only wanted you to believe that it was me, not them, who was shown the door. But for now, I simply believed that this was the wisest course of action. It’s not acrimonious, as I indicated. There, I have a fantastic team.

One of the most well-liked pundits in the conservative media is Bongino. His experience as a New York City police officer and his lengthy tenure as a U.S. Secret Service agent give him credibility.

He has also served as the host of well-liked radio shows, and his program took the place of Rush Limbaugh’s long-running program. Fox Nation used to webcast Bongino’s hour-long radio show on Westwood One, but it will no longer do so.
