Since its opening on January 22, the recently constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has welcomed around 19 lakh worshipers.

After the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ (consecration) ceremony on January 23, the temple opened to the public. Since then, an estimated 18.75 lakh people have flocked there to see the idol of Lord Ram.

A whopping 5 lakh people visited on the first day alone, and the numbers have continued to rise, with an average of over 2 lakh visits every day.

The temple trust and local officials have put in a lot of effort to control the crowds and make sure that worshippers have a positive experience. There are steps in place to keep crowds of people safe and to enable queues that flow in an orderly fashion.

The temple complex is distinguished by its ancient Nagara style architecture, which includes 44 doorways and 392 pillars that are all beautifully carved with images of Hindu deities. The idol of Ram Lalla is kept in the sanctum sanctorum.

The temple administration has scheduled certain times for darshan to accommodate the visitors’ schedules due to the overwhelming number of devotees; ‘aarti’ timings are specified for morning and evening.

It is projected that the temple will be finished by December 2024.
