Prior to the award ceremony on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the National Teachers’ Award 2023 winners. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other top officials attended the conference, which was held in advance of Teachers’ Day celebrations. 75 educators from all throughout the nation received the National Teachers’ Award for their distinctive achievements.

“Meeted the outstanding teachers in our country who have received National Teachers’ Awards. Their continuous commitment to educational achievement and their passion to forming the brains of young people are truly inspirational. They are writing a better future for India’s kids in their classrooms, the prime minister stated in a social media post.

President Droupadi Murmu will present them with the prize on September 5, according to an official statement. 50 instructors from public schools, 13 from higher education, and 12 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship are among the winners.

Each award comes with a silver medal, a monetary prize of $50,000, and a certificate of distinction.

According to a senior official in the Education Ministry quoted by PTI, “The National Teachers’ Award is intended to celebrate the unique contribution of teachers in the nation and to honor those teachers who, through their commitment and dedication, have not only improved the quality of education but also enriched the lives of their students.”

Every year on September 5, Teachers’ Day is observed to honor the anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who served as independent India’s first vice president and second president. It’s a day set aside to honor educators and the part they play in influencing the lives of their charges.
