On September 21, 2023, Mustafa Ali officially announced his departure from WWE on Twitter. The statement is made just one week before a title fight with Mysterio is slated to take place at “No Mercy.”

The match will go on despite Mustafa’s leaving because he had earlier declared he would head to RAW to face the paint.
