Chris Jordan from England will play for MI in IPL 2023 and will take Jofra Archer’s place
The announcement that English fast bowler Jofra Archer won’t be playing in the IPL 2023 has delivered the Mumbai Indians (MI) a serious setback before their key encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
However, the Mumbai Indians (MI) had already announced that Chris Jordan would be joining them for the rest of the season. With only five games played and two wickets taken at an economy rate of 9.50, Archer’s contribution to the Mumbai Indians (MI) has been negligible.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will continue to monitor Jofra Archer’s recuperation and fitness, thus Chris will take his position in the Mumbai Indians squad. In order to concentrate on his recovery, the cricket player will return home. Chris Jordan, meanwhile, formerly played for the ECB, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. A total of 96 T20I wickets have been taken by him in 87 T20I appearances for England. Jordan’s most recent IPL appearance occurred in 2022, when he grabbed two wickets in four games while playing for the Super Kings.
Jofra Archer’s withdrawal from the Indian Premier League was decided upon amicably, according to a statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Archer had been recovering from right elbow surgery.
