According to a government website, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the construction of a new bomb shelter at the nation’s most prestigious hospital, which treats high-ranking officials. The construction of a bomb shelter at the Moscow Central Clinical Hospital has been ordered and is expected to be finished by the end of the year.

According to The Moscow Times, an independent Russian news source, the project would likely cost 35 million rubles ($431,000), according to a website for Russian public procurement. 800 people, including staff and medical personnel, can fit in the bomb shelter. According to reports, it will also have a complicated ventilation system that can purge the air of “gaseous weapons of mass destruction” and aerosols, several entrances, an emergency escape, and radiation protection. There will be training for medical workers to carry out “procedures in wartime.”
