Union ministers and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders around the nation took part in the ‘Shramdaan for cleaning’ program as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign on Sunday in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a national cleaning drive on October 1.

Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Jitendra Singh, and other Union ministers participated in the project. Other participants were Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, his deputy Devendra Fadnavis, UP chief executive Yogi Adityanath, and BJP national president JP Nadda.

Nadda stated that the BJP was honoring Swachchta Pakhwada and Swacchta Abhiyan when discussing the program. Many of our employees are taking part in the Swacchta Abhiyan around the nation. I’m glad to be here with Union minister Meenakashi Lekhi as we take part in the Swacchta Abhiyan today at Ambedkar Basti. I have no doubt that the Mahatma Gandhi-inspired Swacchta Abhiyan will continue with the same vigor.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, “Swacchta Abhiyan 3.0 has started today, and we hope the people of the country will contribute to this mission,” while taking part in the campaign in Himachal Pradesh. Young people have made a significant contribution to our effort.

“PM Modi has taken up the message of Mahatma Gandhi… and we believe that the 140 crore people of this country will work towards fulfilling the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and PM Modi,” said civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

With fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuria, Modi participated in the “Shramdaan for cleanliness” campaign in Delhi. In addition, the PM posted a video of himself participating in the effort. “Today, as the country focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same,” wrote Modi. Beyond only hygiene, we included wellness and fitness in the mix as well. It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe!”

PM Modi asked for everyone to take part in “one hour of shramdaan for swachhata” on October 1 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his birth anniversary during the 105th episode of Mann ki Baat earlier this month.

“We gather on October 1st at 10 AM for an important cleanliness drive. Every effort contributes in creating a Swachh Bharat, which is a shared responsibility. Join this admirable effort to usher in a cleaner future,” wrote PM Modi on X (formerly Twitter).
