Israel-Hamas Conflict Solution Offered By Russia: “Problem Shouldn’t Be…”

The establishment of a Palestinian state, according to Sergei Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, is the “most reliable” way to bring about peace in Israel because combating terrorism by itself won’t provide security. After Hamas launched a significant surprise attack, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the head of the Arab League, visited Russia. At a news conference, Sergei Lavrov stated that the “most reliable path to solve (the conflict)” is to establish a Palestinian state that would coexist with Israel.

He said that Moscow was “deeply concerned that hundreds of Israelis and Palestinians have died and that the Gaza Sector has been declared a target for Israeli retaliation.” “We cannot agree with those who say that security can only be ensured through a fight with terrorism,” he said.

Considering that “they say that (fighting) should be stopped immediately, that Israel should destroy the terrorists,” Lavrov added that Russia has “serious questions” regarding Western policy toward Israel. But they did this before, and they didn’t realize that the underlying cause (of the disagreement) needed to be resolved until after things had settled down. The Palestinian issue shouldn’t be put off any longer.

He had before stated that the Arab League and Russia will cooperate to “stop the bloodshed” in Israel and Gaza.

According to Aboul Gheit, “We demand the creation of political prospects and a fair resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.” He also denounced “the violence, but from all sides.”

After the US positioned its warships closer to its ally Israel, the Kremlin claimed it feared a foreign power may join the battle.

The risk of third forces getting engaged in this dispute is significant, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. As a result, it’s critical to identify ways to start a dialogue process as soon as possible in order to stop the escalation and avoid using military action to resolve the situation.
