The inaugural Leagues Cup, a month-long tournament featuring MLS and Liga MX clubs, is set to captivate soccer fans across the United States and Canada. The tournament kicks off on July 21, with 15 three-team groups organized by geography, showcasing a mix of teams from both leagues. Each group will engage in round-robin play, and the top two finishers will advance to a knockout stage, culminating in the final on August 19.

The Leagues Cup champion will earn a spot in the round of 16 for the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup. Additionally, the losing finalist and the winner of the third-place game will secure a place in the first round of the CCC. All matches will take place in the United States or Canada, with group stage matches between Liga MX sides determined by geography and knockout round matches held at neutral sites.

In a departure from traditional rules, the Leagues Cup will not allow draws. Instead, tied matches at full time will proceed to a penalty kick tiebreaker, with the winner receiving two points and the loser earning one point. The tournament will be broadcasted on various platforms, including MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, Televisa, Univision, FOX Sports, TSN, and RDS.
